I travel a lot and meet interesting people who are interested in basketry. I love to unite weavers and artists from different contexts, not the least projects focused on women in Africa.

Travelling has brought me to Dordogne in France and Burkina Faso in Africa where I got deeply fascinated by different kinds of spiral weave. Working with the spiral reminds me every time of a life experience: every time you have come round you have become a little bit more wise - and the rhythm is repeated again and again. An insight and point of view that can be transferred to many other contexts and create hope that things move when life seems to be going in circles.

The joy of uniting people and creating networks has led me to the formation of baskets4life. Baskets4life is a forum where we share and exchange experience and ideas. We give priority to spending time together and realize the power of working together with each our individual qualities. It is a forum where we focus on exhibitions, installations and teaching tasks. A fellowship where we take interest in each other’s lives and take care of each other.

It is wonderful to be part of such a group and on top of that to be part of creating settings that open up for new, future possibilities.
