The interaction between shape and material is the permanent challenge in my approach to willow in basketry and sculpture work.

My starting point is mostly materials from nature such as willow, bark, roots and rush. I try to reach the maximum of the potential of each material looking at surface and suppleness.

The result is a production of useful baskets where strength and shape must match the purpose. But my focus is also on products where I work in a more imaginative and free style where the expression and shape are top priority. This focus often results in light, poetic installations or large land art projects. These two different approaches enrich each other.

I teach a lot in Denmark and internationally and get plentiful insight and inspiration in many different weaving traditions as well as the opportunity for an exchange of experience obtained by many years activity. I am so grateful for this very rich life with the many good encounters and life experiences.
